The PCOS Program at Tulsa Fertility Center

What is PCOS?

Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal disorder that affects 1 out of 10 women of childbearing age. Common symptoms of PCOS are abnormal or irregular periods, obesity, hirsutism (abnormal hair growth), ovarian cysts and acne. PCOS can cause hormonal imbalances, infertility and other health problems, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, uterine cancer and high cholesterol.

Our Mission

At Tulsa Fertility Center, we are dedicated to empowering individuals with PCOS. Through our comprehensive PCOS program, we strive to provide compassionate care, innovative treatments and personalized support tailored to each patient’s unique needs. Our mission is to enhance fertility outcomes, foster reproductive health and instill hope by addressing the challenges of PCOS with expertise, empathy and unwavering commitment.

Referrals

You may be referred by your provider or request an appointment for any of the following indications:

  • Irregular periods
  • Acne
  • Hirsutism (abnormal hair growth)
  • Absent periods
  • Thickened endometrial lining
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Weight management
  • Insulin resistance

Fertility

Anovulation (not ovulating) and oligoovulation (irregular ovulation) are common with PCOS and can impact the ability to get pregnant. At Tulsa Fertility Center, we can assist with ovulation induction, in addition to options such as timed intercourse, intrauterine insemination (IUI) and in vitro fertilization (IVF).

Treatment

Your first visit would include a review of your medical records and any prior labs. From there, individual plans would be created based on your history and presentation. This could include labs, ultrasound, endometrial biopsies, cycle regulation, ovulation induction, weight loss management, etc. Additionally, you would be followed closely to monitor your progress.

Tulsa Fertility Center uses specialty pharmacies that can provide medications, such as Semaglutide for weight management, at a fraction of the cost. Additionally, we offer in-house ultrasounds, so this prevents patients from having to go elsewhere for imaging.
